A Boy from Hyderabad ends his life after Continuous ragging in college

A 19-year-old second year B.Tech student of Satyabhama University, Chennai, hailing from Kukatpally area of Hyderabad on Friday committed suicide at his home stated due to constant ragging by his seniors at the university.

P Krishna Chaitanya, a computer science student, hanged himself from the ceiling room at home while his family members was asleep. In an eight-page suicide note, he narrated the ordeal he suffered at the hands of five third-year students who were also his hostel mates.

He stated that not only did his seniors mistreat him but also forced him to do all their personal work like going to purchase things for them. He also wrote that he was forced to buy a mobile phone for one of the seniors using the money that his father sent every month.

He stated in the note that six months ago, he was beaten up by the seniors when he refused to do their work and had to be hospitalised with a deep gash on the left side of his forehead leaving a swollen eye. At that time Krishna told his parents that he fell from a motorcycle and suffered the wound. When he came home during a weekend his father took him to he L V Prasad Eye Institute for a check-up.

Krishna also wrote in the note that since several months he was forced to pay mobile and mess bills of two senior students who are both from Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.

Krishna wrote that he came home for Diwali to spend time with his parents, brother and sister after deciding to end his life.
